London Fashion Weekend - the review

Hi Everyone!  This is Danielle. I’m Head of Production and Operations here at Sara Berman.  You saw on Friday we were getting ready for Vodafone London Fashion Weekend so I thought I’d take my turn with this whole blog-writing malarkey and let you know how it all went.

Fashion Weekend is one of our favourite times of the year and we all eagerly look forward to packing up and heading down for a few days down at Somerset House, seeing all of our loyal customers and picking up a bargain or two of our own. We are now mixing our SS11 clothes with some fabulous Les Neriedes jewellery and gorgeous boots from The Jacksons.

I think this was a record year for familiar faces and having people turning up on the stand wearing SB pieces they’d bought previously. Everyone rocks the SB look in their own way and makes us all go a little warm and fuzzy seeing the gorgeousness you all bring to the brand.

Each year, there are one or two customers who especially stand out for me though.  Last year, a young girl was bought two dresses by her mother and the look of appreciation and excitement has stuck with me ever since.  This year’s moment that made all of the work and late nights worth it was the girl who had just started her first ‘real, grown up job’ and wanted to purchase something she would always remember with the first pay cheque she’d just received.  She left the show with the amazing Woody Ringmaster with the Dan Baldwin print lining and am sure she will have it for years to come.

For those of you who weren’t able to make it to the show, have no fear though. We at SB HQ are working tirelessly through the week to get ready for even more sample sale fun. We will be having our own sale here at HQ in Camden next week.  It would be great to see you all there...Wednesday, the 10th 10am – 5pm, Thursday, the 11th 10am – 7pm and Friday, the 12th 10am – 5pm.  Looking forward to seeing you all there!!

London Fashion Weekend Begins

Hello everyone! This is Kelly, I am the Production Assistant at Sara Berman. So today is the start of London Fashion Weekend and I have been preparing for quite a while. We have rounded up all the best pieces from previous seasons, selected the best bits from our warehouse and even have amazing one off pieces that didnt quite make it to the production stage at Sara Berman. The boxes and rails of clothes were all picked up this morning and are now on their way to Somerset House where we are hoping they will fly off of the rails and make their way to new homes and be loved forever! We have gorgeous Harris Tweed coats and blazers (I have my eye on a very nice dogtooth coat!) lots and lots of handbags, some with upto 75% off and leather jackets, dresses and other accessories. Basically tonnes of amazing stuff!

Vodaphone London Fashion Weekend tickets are still available here: http://www2.seetickets.com/lfw/

So what are you waiting for?

Rules Are Made To Be Broken...

With all the resolve of a jelly fish I have failed in my New Years resolution. A mere 53 days in to NYR #1 and I have to conceed defeat in the face of a beautiful pair of Georgina Goodman boots.

Behold the beauty of The Boots...

God I feel so much better! ...Who knew restraint was the mother of depression?

Also, did you notice Amiee and I in our Dan Baldwin scarves again! Read about how SB HQ has gone scarf crazy here.

When work becomes play

Very serious meeting in the SB HQ with Candice from the Outnet. We actually design an exclusive collection for the Outnet which means a whole design and development process. I need to confess that this is nothing like work and very much more like fun. I can also tell you that SS11 Sara Berman for Outnet is going to be phenomenal! Think florals, broderies, leathers and so very much more… See behind the scenes snaps of the atelier in action below.

Amiee looking particularly like she might take off in this photo as she models our mainline SS11 Salamander Rose Biker jacket for comment.

Candice and the SB team in deep discussion over the merits of mink versus coral.

Me modeling a party-wear option (with panache I feel).

Photography 'Mare

I am first off the mark with our new blog so bear with me!

Today I am in the studio busy adding all the finishing touches to the images for our web site. These particular bags are embelished with 3D applique roses. They are absolutely amazing with a huge amount of hand craft work but they are a nightmare to shoot! The roses are very three dimensional and the overlapping layers make crazy shadows... Not an easy day! Hope you like the results though when they go online next week.

Exciting Changes Ahead

Dear All,

I am excited to anounce that I shall no longer be hogging all the lime light with my fascinating endeavors but shall from now be opening the forum to the studio and asking the SB team to step in and keep you posted with what they are all up to. This is a warts and all (joke!!!!-No warts in fashion!) account of the day to day life in the Sara Berman Studio. Enjoy!
